Genesis Global has initiated legal action against its parent company Digital Currency Group (DCG) and CEO Barry Silbert, seeking to recover over $3.2 billion in what it describes as reckless management and fraudulent transfers. The crypto lender filed dual lawsuits in Delaware and New York bankruptcy courts, marking a dramatic escalation in the fallout from its Chapter 11 filing.

The Delaware complaint paints a damning portrait of corporate governance, alleging Silbert and DCG leadership systematically misrepresented Genesis’ financial health while engaging in self-dealing transactions. Court documents claim these actions directly contributed to the lender’s collapse during the 2022 crypto market contagion.

New York filings detail more than $1 billion in questionable transfers to DCG affiliates, described as ’fraudulent conveyances’ that improperly shielded assets from creditors. The lawsuits emerge as the latest chapter in the ongoing清算 of Genesis’ estate, which once ranked among crypto’s most prominent institutional lenders.
